These Yin style yoga classes are mostly passive floor poses that are held for several minutes. Straps, bolsters and blocks can be used to ease into the poses. DIY - make a bolster out of a couple of thick towels, rolled and secured with a ribbon and grab a couple of out of fashion ties or a long scarf.
Each posture has a “focus area” and you'll be guided throughout class on how to “sit with” and explore the physical sensations.   The deep stretches allow the body to release tension and improve flexibility.  
Yin Yoga is good for us on a physical and mental level as the whole class links breath and mindfulness to physical sensations and letting go.
