The perfect opportunity for stillness and quiet. Combine that with passive stretching and deep breathing and you'll know why this practice is addictive.
Class will close with a Yoga Nidra - a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and you will become increasingly aware of your inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This is different from meditation. In yoga nidra you remain in a state of light pratyahara with four of your senses internalised and only the hearing still connects to your instructions. The yogic goal of both paths, deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and meditation are the same, a state called Samadhi.
